How old do I need to be to rent a boat?
You must be at least 22 years of age to rent and depart with any rental craft. A valid driver's license is required at check-in.
Do I need a boating safety certificate?
If you were born on or after January 1, 1998, Illinois law requires you to possess a valid Illinois Boating Safety Certificate.

Is fuel included in the rental price?
No. Fuel is not included in the rental price. Fuel charges will be calculated separately based on usage.
Are pets allowed on rental boats?
No. Pets are not permitted on any rental boat. No exceptions.
Can I bring a BBQ grill on the boat?
No. BBQs and portable grills are not allowed on any rental craft. No exceptions.
Are water sports allowed?
Water sports are permitted on select boats only. Please contact Spring Lake Marina before booking if you plan to participate in water sports activities.
Can anyone under 18 operate the boat?
No. No person under the age of 18 may drive or operate any rental craft.
Who is responsible for damage to the boat?
The lessee (renter) is responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or misuse of the rental craft, equipment, and contents during the rental period.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time for check-in, paperwork, and safety orientation.
It is the customer's responsibility to arrive on time. Late arrivals will not receive rental credits, refunds, or additional time extensions.
What is your cancellation policy?
Spring Lake Marina requires a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) notice to receive a full refund.
Reservations canceled with less than 72 hours' notice will receive a rain date credit valid for up to one year.
What happens if I don't show up for my reservation?
No-show / no-call reservations are non-refundable.
Failure to arrive for your scheduled reservation without prior notice will result in the full forfeiture of all rental payments.
Where do rentals depart from?
All pontoon and tritoon rentals depart directly from Spring Lake Marina in Antioch, Illinois, with immediate access to the Chain O' Lakes.
